My research focuses largely on computation and fault-tolerance in quantum systems with restricted control. For many quantum systems it is impossible to achieve full control over all parts of the system. I work on developing protocols for performing quantum computation within such systems. I'm particularly interested in globally controlled computation. I am also interested in measurement based quantum computation and in links between graph state theory and quantum cryptography.
