Biography

I am a theoretical physicist with interests in all areas of quantum mechanics and quantum information theory. I currently lead the Quantum Theory & Information research group at Singapore University of Technology and Design and at the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore.  At present, my research focuses largely on using quantum mechanics to enhance the security of networked computation, however I have also worked on quantum computing architectures, metrology and quantum information theory.

    NRF-NRFF2013-01: Methods for verifying quantum computation

    S$3.5m over 5 years

    The objective of this project is to develop techniques for verifying that the results of a calculation performed on a quantum computer are indeed correct. Specifically this will entail the construction of protocols for implementing interactive proof systems which allow the correctness of the outcome to be established beyond doubt, through interaction with the user.

    Start-up Research Grant: Quantum Communication

    S$100,000 over 3 years

    This grant supports the groups research in quantum information theory, and specifically quantum communications. The aim of the supported research is the development of new theoretical tools for determining the maximum rate of reliable transmission of information over quantum channels and the development of novel quantum communications protocols and cryptographic schemes.
